We are seeking for our headquarters in Heidelberg a highly motivated

 

Biomedical Data Analytics Scientist (m/f/d)

As a member of the Biomedical Data Analytics group, you will be responsible for the maintenance and further development of projects in the data analysis area, where internal and external databases are used to generate predictive algorithms. 

 

Your tasks:

  • Data modelling and management
  • Statistical analysis of diverse biomedical data sets
  • Use advanced mathematical models, machine learning algorithms, operations research techniques, and subject knowledge to derive insights from diverse data sources
  • Work in cross-functional teams to provide solutions to biomedical problems
  • Develop documented and maintainable code for software solutions
  • Maintain software to product level standards
  • Communicate the results via reports and presentations

Your skills and qualifications:

  • PhD or Master in Informatics, Bioinformatics, Statistics or similar areas
  • Strong programming skills, preferably in Python
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Expertise in applied machine learning methodology
  • Ability to work independently and willingness to acquire new skills
  • Be dependable, focused, and team-oriented
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
  • Skills that are considered a plus:
    • Experience analyzing clinical/biomedical data
    • Familiarity with molecular data (e.g., NGS data, protein sequences, and drugs)
    • Experience in development and maintenance of ML solutions in productive settings
    • Good presentation and writing skills for scientific results
    • Fluency in German
