We are seeking for our headquarter in Heidelberg a highly motivated

Biostatistics Scientist (m/f/d)

As a member of the Clinical Data Analytics group, you will be responsible for the statistical aspects of several studies of diverse types. Two frequent cases are biomarker identification studies and investigations of clinical utility (efficacy, safety, cost). Both prospective and retrospective studies will be performed.

Your responsibilities

  • Contributing to the design of studies, in particular ensuring statistical validity for the projected goals
  • Data modelling and management
  • Building and maintaining an appropriate data analysis toolkit
  • Applying machine learning to diverse problems
  • Performing analyses of the datasets gathered from studies
  • Participating in diverse projects in different areas of the company
  • Communicating the results via reports and presentations
  • Planning and leading projects resulting in scientific publications, conference posters, and marketing material

Your essential skills and qualifications

  • PhD or Masters in biostatistics or (medical) statistics, or a related field
  • Strong programming skills, preferably in R, Python, C/C++, Java
  • Expertise in databases/SQL
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
  • Several years of experience analyzing clinical/medical data
  • Familiarity with molecular data (e.g., NGS data, protein sequences, and drugs)
  • Background in oncology
  • Fluency in German is considered as a plus
  • Ability to work independently and willingness to acquire new skills
